Brush painting with white ink OR sketching with white charcoal pencil/ on black paper is very fun! 
Look for the "flying black"  versus the "flying white" you would find in Sumie ink painting: where the brush "skips over the paper"  when drier or with a faster brush stroke. Gives an unpredictable kind of "texture interest " with the paper color  showing through.
